Ireland’s most experienced Gastric Balloon surgeon: Dr John Loy who introduced the gastric pill balloon to Ireland

A Simple, Painless 3-Step Process

Swallow the pill

You simply swallow a small capsule containing the balloon, guided by our doctor.

Expands in the stomach

Once in place, the balloon fills with fluid, helping you feel full and eat less.

Passes out naturally

After ~16 weeks, the balloon passes out naturally — no surgery, no removal needed.

Allurion Gastric Balloon FAQ

The balloon, tucked inside a capsule, is swallowed and filled with water during a brief 15-minute doctor’s visit. Approximately 4 months later, it self-empties and passes out naturally.

99.9% of people succeed in swallowing the balloon. If you have trouble, your doctor will be on hand to help the capsule on its way.

The Allurion® Balloon has been proven to support an average of 10-15% total body weight loss after approximately 4 months.
Plus, you can boost your weight loss with a second consecutive Allurion® Balloon and lose an average of 23% of your body weight in 12 months.

After approximately 4 months, a time-activated release valve automatically opens, allowing the balloon to empty and pass out naturally through the gastrointestinal tract.

The price of your Allurion Balloon depends on  the specific program you choose with your doctor.

At Auralia we offer you the possibility of monthly payments up to 36 months.
