During your breast augmentation surgery consultation, your full medical history is examined to make sure you’re an appropriate candidate.

Some discomfort is inevitable. Pain is a little more pronounced in patients who have implants placed below the muscle. Rest assured, Auralia makes sure that your experience will be the least painful it can be.
Discomfort is usually well controlled by our experienced consultant anaesthetists. On discharge home, you will be given your personalised medications, including painkillers that will help ease any pain you feel after surgery. Make sure to inform your Auralia surgeon about any allergies during your consultation.
Any surgery usually results in scars; however, your surgeon aims to give you the best result by minimising the incision and strategically selecting the incision place to give you the best possible result.
The resulting scar depends on which approach of breast augmentation will be used during the surgery. Generally, it will be a small scar just below the breast crease. During your consultation, we will discuss the potential locations of scars and determine the best approach for you. In most cases, scars fade significantly after a few months.
BREAST IMPLANTS
This varies from patient to patient, and will be discussed with you during your consultation.
However breast implants are designed to be durable and long-lasting. There is no specific timeline for when replacements are necessary.
At Auralia we have all kinds of implants, in various shapes and sizes. Natural looking, or tear dropped, and round implants, silicon or saline, are all available at Auralia. Implants are available as either round or teardrop in shape. Your doctor will run through everything you need to know about the types of implants we have in your initial consultation.
AFTER BREAST PROCEDURE
After the operation, you’ll be discharged the same day, and we advise that a friend drives you home from the hospital. Most patients won’t have any bruising after surgery, but occasionally some patients will under their breasts.
There might be a small bit of swelling within the breasts and your skin might feel tight during recovery, but this will relax after the first week and your breasts will return to their more natural appearance.
Painkillers might be needed during your first 5 days of recovery, but you’ll be able to resume driving and light work the day after surgery.
You should avoid lifting heavy weights like shopping bags until you’re fully healed. You should also wait until the day after to shower.
Furthermore, you’ll have a check-up with Auralia surgeon after your first week, and by then most patients go back to work.
6 weeks after your boob surgery, you'll have another review appointment with your surgeon and the majority of swelling should have gone down.
You can go on holidays within a week or two following your procedure, however, you should confirm this with your Auralia surgeon during your consultation as they may advise otherwise, depending on your exact procedure.
You should ensure that the incisions and fresh scars are not exposed to the sun for the first couple of months.
Breast implants are placed below the mammary gland so they won’t interfere with breastfeeding.
If your job involves light office work, you can go back to work within 3-4 days. You can go back to more intense work after 7 days.
You won’t be able to exercise straight after breast implant surgery, and you’ll only be able to resume exercise or go back to the gym 4-5 weeks post-operation.
