How Do I Prepare For Buttock Implants Surgery?

2 WEEKS PRE-OPERATIVELY

Avoid aspirin, NSAIDs like Brufen and Volterol, Vitamin E supplements, and smoking to reduce bleeding risks.

1 WEEK BEFORE YOUR OPERATION

It is advisable to take 1 gm vitamin C twice a day to improve wound healing.

DAY BEFORE THE SURGERY

It is not advisable to have sex the day before surgery.

THE DAY OF SURGERY

Dress in loose, comfortable clothing – soft, elasticated track suit bottoms are ideal.

The Recovery Process From Buttock Implants Surgery

The patient will overnight at the clinic and a friend should drive them home from the hospital. The patient will be unable to sit or lie down on the area for the first 24 hours after the operation. Following your buttock implant there will be some bruising, swelling and discomfort. The discomfort will be controlled by the pain medication. Most patients take 2 weeks off from work, but if they have a physically strenuous job it may require a longer period of time.

What are the implants made from?

The implants are made from solid silicone, which cannot rupture, spill or deflate.

What is involved with buttock implant surgery?

Buttock implant surgery is performed under general anaesthesia. A single implant is placed into each buttock area through an incision overlying the tailbone. Through the incision, the buttock muscle is lifted, and a pocket is made just large enough for the implant to be placed. This is then repeated on the other side before both sides are carefully examined in order to assure that the results look natural and symmetric. This is an overnight procedure and the patient will be unable to sit or lie on the area for the first 24 hours post operation.

Will I be able to sit down after the procedure?

You won’t be able to sit or lie down immediately after the procedure, but after 24 hours you should be able to.

How long till I can resume normal activities?

Most patients can return to work and other normal activities after about two weeks of downtime.
