Fat grafting can address multiple facial areas, including:

Most patients experience mild swelling and bruising for 5–10 days. Visible signs of the procedure typically subside within 1–2 weeks, although final results may take several weeks to months as the fat settles and integrates.
Many patients return to office-based work within 3–5 days. Strenuous activity or heavy lifting is usually resumed after 2–3 weeks, depending on your surgeon’s advice and healing progress.
Because the procedure uses your own fat cells, results can be long-lasting. A portion of the transferred fat may naturally be absorbed during the first few months, but the remaining fat typically integrates permanently, often lasting several years.
Temporary swelling or mild numbness is normal during the first few weeks, but permanent changes in facial sensation are extremely rare when the procedure is performed by an experienced surgeon.
Potential side effects include swelling, bruising, redness, or tenderness at both donor and treated areas. Rare complications can include infection, asymmetry, or over/under-correction, which can often be addressed with minor touch-up procedures.
The procedure is performed under local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia, so you won’t feel pain during surgery. Mild discomfort, tenderness, or swelling is normal during the first few days, but this is easily managed with pain medication.
