Labiaplasty FAQs

Labiaplasty can be performed under local anaesthesia with oral sedation or under general anaesthesia. The trim procedure, involving the removal of excess tissue with direct suturing, is the most common type of labiaplasty. The wedge or linear excision, maintaining a natural border after removing a pie-shaped piece of tissue, is also popular. Your surgeon might use a scalpel or a CO2 laser for the cutting part of the procedure.

The incision(s) for the labia reduction are relatively small and will leave minimal, possibly undetectable, scars.

This will depend on the patient’s desires and needs. Because the labiaplasty reduces the size of the labia minora, the clitoral hood might look proportionally bigger than expected, so it is sometimes advisable to have a clitoral hood reduction with the labiaplasty. This of course depends on each patient as everyone is unique and has different preferences.

labiaplasty price at Auralia starts from €186/month for one side and €108/month for both sides.

We offer flexible plans to suit every budget. Our financing plans makes you able to spread your procedure cost over 36 monthly payments.

This will depend on exactly what you’re having done. A labiaplasty can take anywhere between 1 and 2 hours depending on whether it is only a labiaplasty or if it’s coupled with a clitoral hood reduction. Other procedures can also be coupled with Labiaplasty, during your consultation your surgeon will provide you with more accurate surgery duration for your specific case.

Swelling and tenderness are common for the first 1–2 weeks. Most patients return to light daily activities within a week, resume exercise after 3–4 weeks, and can typically return to sexual activity after 6 weeks. Final results continue to refine as swelling settles over several months. Following aftercare instructions helps ensure a smoother, more comfortable recovery.

Most patients describe labiaplasty as mildly to moderately uncomfortable rather than severely painful. The area is numbed during surgery, and discomfort afterward is typically managed with over-the-counter pain relief and cold compresses. Swelling and sensitivity are expected during the first week but improve steadily.

Yes, but they probably won’t be noticeable. Your surgeon will make every effort to keep incisions as minimal as possible and try to hide them in the natural lines and creases of your skin. The scars will fade over time and become barely noticeable.

All surgeries, including labia reduction, carry some amount of risk, and these include the chance of infection, scarring and pain. You will have a chance to talk frankly with your surgeon about any worries you might have, and any possible risks, will be clearly communicated with you before you make any decisions. You’ll also be given a copy of everything in writing, so you can take them home and go through them at your own pace. We’re also here for you if you have any questions.

Yes, the results of labiaplasty are long-lasting, though natural aging may cause slight changes over time.

You should refrain from engaging in sexual activity or using tampons for a minimum of 4 to 6 weeks following the surgery. Your surgeon will provide you with personalised advice based on the progress of your healing process and the presence of any postoperative complications. Assuming a smooth recovery, resuming intercourse is generally advisable after this period.

Labiaplasty is designed to reshape the labia without interfering with sexual sensation. The clitoris and clitoral nerves are not operated on directly. Temporary sensitivity or numbness can occur during healing, but permanent changes in sensation are rare when performed by an experienced surgeon.

Undergoing surgery on your labia typically does not have an impact on childbirth. If the size and shape of your labia are causing physical and emotional distress, labiaplasty can be a helpful solution. It's essential to be aware, though, that the
appearance of your modified labia may be affected by pregnancy and childbirth.

Yes, labiaplasty is a safe and appropriate procedure for patients regardless of their sexual history. The surgery focuses on reshaping or reducing the labia minora (inner lips) and/or labia majora (outer lips) to address discomfort or aesthetic concerns. Importantly, the procedure does not involve or affect the hymen, which is a separate structure. So virginity is unrelated to anatomical eligibility for labiaplasty.

Most patients can return to office-based or remote work within 3–5 days. Jobs involving physical labor, prolonged standing, or repetitive movement may require a bit more time off. Your surgeon will provide personalised guidance based on your job demands and healing progress.

Yes. Labiaplasty is commonly combined with complementary vaginal rejuvenation procedures when a patient wants a more complete functional or aesthetic enhancement. At Auralia, labiaplasty can be combined with:

  • Clitoral hood reduction

  • Hymen Restoration

  • Perineal Body Repair

  • Vaginoplasty

Combining procedures can reduce overall downtime and provide more harmonious results. During consultation, your surgeon will assess your anatomy, goals, and medical history to determine which combination is safe and appropriate for you.
