Born in Iraq in 1970. Medicine runs in the family, as Dr Salman’s mother is a paediatrician and his sister in an onco-plastic breast surgeon. He completed his pre-med in Texas, USA. He then moved to Ireland and did Medicine in UCD, Dublin and graduated with Honours in surgery. Dr. Salman has been practicing in this field since 2000, when he founded Auralia Clinic. He completed his general surgery training in Ireland and afterwards he returned to the USA to train under the renowned Dr. Michael E. DeBakey in Cardiothoracic Surgery at the Methodist Hospital in Houston. It was during this time that Dr. Salman decided to branch into the area of Aesthetic plastic Surgery. He then went to Australia to receive further training in Breast Surgery and returned to Texas to complete specialist training in the John Tebbett technique for Breast surgery. Passionate and innovatory about his work, Dr. Salman has practiced as an Aesthetic surgeon in Ireland since founding Auralia. Auralia was established as a specialized day surgery centre and was the first of its kind in Ireland. It encompasses state of the art operating facilities and is accredited by CHKS. This operating facility incorporates Dr. Salman’s beloved Auralia Cosmetics, the leading cosmetic surgery provider in Ireland with clinics in Kilkenny, Limerick and Dublin. He is Ireland’s leading expert in cosmetic/aesthetic surgery and is registered with the Irish Medical Council – No : 20406. He performs over 2000 Aesthetic surgery procedures annually. He was the first cosmetic surgeon to introduce the Biodynamic Breast augmentation system to Ireland, and the first to use it in Ireland and the UK. He has a special interest in the Internal Mastopexy Technique and has vast experience in the area of laser aesthetics and Tumescent liposuction. Dr. Salman is married with two children. When not working, he enjoys the outdoors and has a great passion for the conservation of wild deer and their habitat.

Mr John Loy is a Consultant Upper GI and Bariatric Surgeon in Auralia, Ireland where he is lead bariatric surgeon and head of the bariatric unit. After medical school in Belfast, Mr Loy went on to complete higher surgical training in the UK, specialising in Upper GI and Bariatric surgery. He has extensive training at Royal College of Surgeons Fellowship level in both weight loss surgery and advanced keyhole surgery. With over 10 years experience at Consultant level and as one of the highest volume UK weight loss surgeons, John is delighted to bring his vast experience in metabolic and weight loss surgery from Harley Street London to Dublin. He has performed over 2000 bariatric procedures including gastric sleeve, bypass and complex revisional surgery for those with bariatric complications from surgery performed abroad. He is an accredited surgical trainer, having been appointed Royal College of Surgeons College Tutor for his London hospital and higher surgical trainer for the London Deanery. Mr Loy has a special research interest in obesity related fatty liver disease and collaborates on this with the renowned Blizard Institute in London. This work lead to his recent appointment as Honorary Senior Lecturer in Surgery at Queen Mary University, London. He has authored book chapters and research articles on weight loss surgery and continues to teach and lecture at national and international conferences. Mr Loy spent a year working in the world-renowned NYU Langone Medical Centre in New York with Professors George Fielding and Professor Christine Ren Fielding. Some of the best practices he learned in New York have carried through to his work both in the UK and here in Ireland. Most importantly, John prides himself on his personal approach to each patient, tailoring surgical and non surgical options to suit the individual who seeks his help.

Dr Mitic completed his specialisation in Plastic, Aesthetic, and Reconstructive Surgery at the Virgen del Rocío University Hospital in Seville, Spain, from 1993 to 2003. Since then, he has worked in prominent plastic surgery clinics throughout Europe. Coming from a family rooted in Medicine, Dr Mitic chose the path of studying medicine to contribute to helping people. He expresses dedication to surgery as a means of making a positive impact, citing the joy and increased self-confidence of his patient’s post-surgery as affirmation of his chosen path. Dr. Ibraheem Mu'azzam Tunau is an accomplished General Surgeon with a special focus on breast surgery. Dr. Tunau graduated from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University in Nigeria 1989. He also completed his fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (FRCSI), in 2000, he then refined his skills in laparoscopic surgery, earning a diploma from the European Institute of Telesurgery in Strasbourg, France. Dr. Tunau has performed over 2,000 breast surgeries! Dr. Ibraheem has over 30 years of clinical experience, where he served in numerous prestigious medical institutions across Ireland, including the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital and St. Vincent’s University Hospital in Dublin. Dr Ibraheem contributed significantly to breast surgery, particularly within specialist breast units, and recognition for his research with awards for best case and poster presentations at surgical meetings in 2007 and 2009. David Keogh began his journey with Auralia in 2012 as a Patient Care Coordinator in our bariatric surgery unit. With a strong commitment to patient care and a passion for building cohesive teams, David rose to the position of Head of the Department. In this role, he successfully developed a talented and dedicated team, driving growth and excellence within the unit. David’s leadership and strategic vision led to his appointment to the board of management. In 2024, his deep understanding of Auralia's values, leadership and management earned him the position of Acting CEO. David continues to guide the organization with a focus on innovation, patient-centred care, and fostering a positive workplace culture.

We are pleased to welcome Darwin as our anaesthetic nurse, who specialises in anaesthesia and assists the anaesthetist in the operating theatre. He has vast experience in this field, including vascular recovery and is a support provider for advanced cardiac life support, patient controlled analgesia, immediate life support. He is also a key trainer in anaesthetic monitor suction ECG machines (Hammersmith Hospital UK). From 2003 to 2013 Darwin worked as an anaesthetic and recovery nurse in the Mater Hospital, recovering vascular, orthopaedic/spinal, cardio-thoracic, urology, plastic and ophthalmic cases. He also has experience in assisting in anaesthesia for heart and lung transplants, and is highly trained in difficult airway management.

Remy is our senior theatre nurse and a trusted member of our team here in Auralia. She oversees the running of the hospital and theatre and has over 35 years experience in the field of nursing. Remy is an expert scrub and circulation nurse in a number of different surgeries including plastic, reconstructive, breast oncology and bariatric. She has worked as a senior theatre nurse in the Mafraq Hospital in Abu Dhabi, and was a senior theatre nurse in the Mater Hospital before joining Auralia last year. She is an exceptional member of our team, and we are proud to have such an experienced professional on board.

Reem Salman is a female general surgeon specialised in Breast Oncoplastic surgery who graduated from University College Dublin in 1996. She completed both basic surgical and higher surgical training in general surgery at The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and obtained the Surgical Fellowship in 2008 and the European Board of Surgery Qualification in Surgical Oncology in 2009.
