You’re usually a better fit if your weight is stable, you don’t smoke or vape (or you can stop as advised), and your expectations are focused on natural improvement rather than “perfection.” Rhinoplasty can be considered for concerns like a hump, wide bridge, bulbous or droopy tip, crooked nose, or breathing issues caused by structural problems. Closed rhinoplasty places incisions inside the nostrils, so there’s usually no visible external scar and it’s often used for more limited changes.

You’ll usually see an early change once the splint comes off (often around 1 week), but swelling continues to settle for months. Most swelling improves within the first 3 months, while subtle swelling, especially in the tip, can take up to 12 months to fully resolve, which is when final results are clearest.

Most people do not have a lasting voice change, but some notice a temporary difference early on due to swelling and nasal congestion affecting airflow. Changes are usually subtle and not problematic for speech, though people who use their voice professionally should discuss this with their surgeon during their consultation.
