Making Your Desired Surgery Affordable

Auralia can help you spread the investment of your surgery, allowing monthly payments over 24 or 36 months.

How Do I Prepare
For Thigh Lift Surgery?

Avoid aspirin, NSAIDs like Brufen and Volterol, Vitamin E supplements, and smoking to reduce bleeding risks.

It is advisable to take 1 gm vitamin C twice a day to improve wound healing.

Nail polish should be removed prior to surgery for the anaesthetic equipment requirement.

Avoiding shaving your legs right before surgery because it makes sklin more porous, which can cause infection

The Recovery Process From Thigh Lift Surgery

PHASE 1

POST-OPERATIVE RECOVERY

  • Following a surgical thigh lift, most patients experience minimal pain that is easily controlled with medication.
  • Any swelling is usually gone within two or three weeks and there is rarely bruising associated with thigh lift surgery.
  • Patients should expect to be off from work for around a week, although most individuals are able to get up and move around within a few days of the thigh lift.
PHASE 2

POST-OPERATIVE RECOVERY

  • It is important that, even if you feel sore, to walk or move around frequently after your thigh lift surgery to ensure proper passage of blood flow and to avoid clots.
  • Keeping joints mobile will aid in healthy blood circulation.
  • The sutures will come out within a week to ten days, and the results of the thigh lift are almost immediately available.

Thigh Lift Surgery FAQs

Thigh lifts require general anaesthesia, and can be combined with other related procedures, such as tummy tucks and liposuction. A thigh lift surgery alone usually takes around two hours to complete. The incision used to perform a thigh lift is placed in the groin area beneath the bikini line. A crescent of skin is removed from the groin, then the tissues below the incision are loosened and the “thigh lift” takes place as the skin is pulled up and the incision sutured shut. Deep stitches are used in the thigh lift to secure the skin to ligament and bone, preventing sagging as the incisions heal. Drains are placed in the incisions to prevent excess fluids after the thigh lift surgery, and are usually removed within a few days.

All consultations are private one-on-one sessions with your Auralia surgeon that normally last 15-20 minutes. During your consultation, the Auralia surgeon provides a clear understanding of the procedure, as well as an accurate picture of how your thighs will look after the surgery. They will clearly discuss any potential risks of the procedure and answer any questions you might have.

Liposuction is typically recommended for those patients who primarily have excess fat with tight skin. However, if the skin does not shrink following liposuction, the patient may want to consider a thigh lift procedure. Liposuction is not a good solution if your problem is due to loose skin. When the skin is loose, a ‘lift’ surgery is usually the best choice.

All surgeries, no matter how safe, carry some amount of risk, including infection, scarring and pain. You will have a chance to talk frankly with your surgeon about any worries you might have, and any possible risks will be clearly and honestly communicated with you before you make any decisions. You’ll also be given a copy of everything in writing, so you can take them home and go through them at your own pace. We’re also here for you if you have any questions!
